The Man I Meet in My Dreams
I am tired of being lonely, sleeping alone night after night
I lay starring at the shadows, searching for silence and peace of mind
Then I close my eyes falling into a deep slumber
It is at that moment, as the night overcomes me
When I lay lifeless, motionless...
That is when I meet you
I run into your open arms, becoming one as our bodies collide
Never in my life have I ever felt so alive
Your fingers grazing my cheek as they glide over my face
I melt into you, feeling nothing but the numbness of your touch
You lead me further into this paradise, holding my hand, tugging me
We sit together in the sunset, bathing in the golden light
Talking of old times and times to come
I lean on your shoulder, finding strength in your pressence
I never want to leave this place, I never want to leave you
I want you beside me forever, for the rest of my life
But then it is time to awake, time to say goodbye
Time to leave this dream world that I have created
You slip from my arms as if you were never there to begin with
I watch you turn your back to leave
I cry out and beg you to stay, just for another hour, a minute, a second
You shake you head and smile
You tell me that tomorrow night is another chance for us to be together
I know you are the one for me, my life partner
You complete me, and make me whole
At some point in our future, when our paths cross
I will marry you, I will become your wife, the mother of your children
So until my dream and reality merged into one life
I will save myself for you, loveing you
You are the man in my dreams, the love of my life
Being with anyone else wouldn't be right
It would just be settling for less
