My heart has been released today
From a prison of several months
I had gotten used to the chains and the bars
When the jailer opened the door
I felt instant relief, , to tread the unknown
To venture forth into tranquil fields of freedom.
Entering into a new world
Void of pain
No thorns, no raging fires, no vultures squalling
Having left the darkness of desires hell
Neath a spell of evil powers
Dark spirits curse suddenly lifted
Replaced by dew dripped flowers
Like a fear of anything new and untested
The soothing waters are fearful
But shall become the rivers of my life
Replacing the pain and strife
Ahh,... the open air..... the freedom
The smell of honeysuckle in the dew
Its all so new
But I think I'm going to like it.
