Your Ride
No one's picking up the phone
You're gone...
The phone is just ringing, in my ear
So, you never really cared
I find that truth hard to see
But, I know it to be real
I jumped in, heart first
Into an unknown situation
I risked my heart, and lost it all
But, you didn't lose a thing
Guess I cared a little too much
Guess I didnt' want to see
And I gave everything I had
Just to get nothing in return...
And, I thought you were behind me
Thought that I'd finally let go
So, I saw this guy, for a while
But, it wasn't what I wanted
He was nice, but not ideal
And I know he isn't you...
I see my shadow on the wall
And my reflection in the rain
The moon is laughing at my heart
Foolish and torn, in your hand
And your ride was really great
One I didn't want to end
No, I didn't like those lines
I was always waiting
Now, I find that it wasn't worth the wait
Always too little, too late...
And your hair's touched with grey
Just a little, behind your ear
And I never really did mind it
But, you really did seem to care
You were something that I needed
At one time
You were like a dream, to me
But, things just slipped away
Gone from night to day
Now, no one's picking up the phone
And it seems, you're gone
