How Can I?

How can I possibly say goodbye?
I will see you in the morning.
Less than twelve hours from now.
Yet letting you out of the car
seems to be the hardest part of all.

It doesn't help that I have to drive home
alone, in the dark.
I have to restrain myself
So I don't turn around for another
visit when I've only just left five
minutes before.

Shakespeare had the idea - it was
he who said 'Parting is such
sweet sorrow, so I will say goodnight
until the morrow'
Romeo and Juliet - Shakespeare was God.
Is God.

I'll bet that if there is a heaven,
Shakespeare is in charge.

One last kiss before I go
I'll try my hardest not to turn around
Wait, just another, then close the door
I love you
I'll see you tomorrow

Goodnight
