Thank you for the Roses

I've received roses before.
But this time it was different.
They were alive this time.
They smiled at me
Talked to me
Sang to me
Whispered softly in my ear

Twelve small unborn children
Who blossomed from my womb
Giggling voices in imitation of me
Humming a melody that I created
Each individually different

Approaching the vase as I awoke
They leaned toward me
Breathing my warm moist morning scent
Smiling their crimson blush at me
Releasing their sweet rose fragrance
To please, tease, and tickle my nose

The twelve varied curved and dimpled faces
Yawning and stretching
In different stages of awareness
Releasing their perfumed breath
Innocent buds hiding amongst mature siblings
Each beautiful in their own way.

Each capturing my  heart
With the words they whisper to me
From the father who begot them
He told them to share his secret with me
Breathing his voice into my ear
Sentiments he taught them to say
Feelings only roses can express......
