I build this wall around me
To hide from life and love
I build this wall with mortar of pain
So that my heart can’t be reached
I build this wall with bricks of betray'al
So as to hide from the light of joy
As I see you my pain fade’s
My mortar turns to dust
As you smile my betray'al is forgotten
My bricks crumble to the earth
As you speak with your sweet voice
I embrace the light
When you reach your hand out to me
I give you my heart my life and love
