The Human Touch

Our senses are a gift of tremendous proportions
To smell, taste, touch, see, and hear
But of these, which is the greatest

Varied would be the answers
I pondered long on this
Reliving the senses involved

Which fires the emotions most
Kindling feelings of desire
Igniting thoughts of anticipation

Yet at the same time

Soothing to the souls yearnings
Lotion to  the hearts ache
Quenching the sensual thirst

Place your hand in mine
Feel the warmth of the human touch
Skin touching skin, softly, gently

The touch of a warm embrace
Lips pressing against lips
The caress of my hand on your face

A hand upon your shoulder or  around your waist
Massaging your neck with emotional grace
Palm tickling your arm in a slow gentle pace

The Human Touch
