Wall Between Us

There is a wall between us
That's too high for me to see over
But, there's a crack that I can see you through
Still, I cannot touch you, hold you
Cannot lie in your arms, and listen to your heartbeat
It just isn't possible now, once upon a time, it was
But, the fairytale's over, an almost distant memory...
This wall, standing between us was built by your own hands
And I cannot break it down, and I cannot get around it
But, you...you can destroy it
You can walk right through it
Yet, you don't, you don't...
I'm reduced, again, to pressing my face up against the glass
Looking at what isn't mine to have, the one thing I can't afford
And your eyes tease mine, even now...
The opportunity not seized, burns in my mind
But, the choice lies in your possesion
Pressed up against your heart
And I don't know what you'll do
Or if you'll choose to do anything at all
So, this wall lies between us
Tell me, my dear, what will you do?
Do you care enough to break this wall?
Do you, do you care?
I'm standing here, pressed against this wall
This wall standing between us...
