Wedding Bouquet

The wedding bouquet is bright as ever
Silk roses in white, purple, yellow, red
But last night I had to pull the lever
And escape the black and white words we said.
All night long I slept drugged, without the dreams
Too sick and tired to miss the warmth of you
And then the sun came through in yellow streams
Fading the black and brightening the blue.
Maybe today we can bring it all back
Drink in the colors and dance in the light
Despite all our misfortune we don't lack
The quiet magic that makes us hold on tight.
Someday I'll pick a wild, living bouquet
Take the fake flowers and put them away.
