Just For Looks

The only thing she worried about on the way to labor and delivery
was if her toenails were painted or not. You'd think by number three
she'd concern herself with who the father was, if he'd support the baby,
how she'd take care of the other two, you know, that line of thinking.
But hell no, she's not putting her feet in those stirrups and letting
the doctor see those unpainted toenails. She might want to swing from the
pipes and scream at the top of her lungs, but by God, she'd better have
'Really Really Red' on her toes. She's got her dignity. She's a survivor.
Just a hard core survivor. She only lives for the present day.
Love? Well, it passed her by. Who needs it anyway?
