Her Time
To lose someone you love is devasting. To watch the matriarch of your
family die can tear all of you apart. Why is the strength of tower the
first to crumble? Maybe we love her too much. She's provided for her
only child, two grandchildren and now two great grands.
She was a tough talking, opinionated, cigarette smoking business woman.
Now she's too proud to ask the doctor for a laxative to treat a severe
condition caused by chemotherapy.
I know it's coming but I will never be prepared for her death. My mother
can't even visit her during hospital trips. I guess we all deal with it
in our own way. My father worked for her for years. He bitched then and he
bitches now. Hated working for her and now hates working for a corporation.
Wants my mother to travel with him, take a trip. I put my foot down and
told him that now is not a good time. Now is her time.
Time for an only daughter and her mother to spend the end of a life
together.
