These Thoughts...

These thoughts clutter
My head
With absolutely
No order
There are cobwebs in the corners
And dust coats the floor
Darkness...
The single lightbulb
Swinging...
Swinging...
Burnt out...
And the walls creak
With coaxing from the wind
The lightning flashes
The rain rages...
These thoughts
Scattered
All around
Stacked to the ceiling
Filed from wall to wall
All those things
Left unsaid
Are just lying around
So much doubt
Just lounging causually
Here and there
Making holes
Where it will
So, that the rain
Sometimes
Seeps in
Like tonight...
And it's cold
Up here
Surrounded by these thoughts
Choked by the mist
That comes with confusion
These thoughts
All around me
And all my memories
Reside here
Within these walls
These rain-soaked
Warped
Walls
Every memory
Stored here
Mixed in with
Each
"what-if"
Jumbled and strewn
About
These thoughts
Some whole, intact
Perfect...
Other crumbling, faded
Nearly forgotten...
There is hardly
A space to step
A spot to fill
My mind...
Cluttered...
Clouded...
So, clouded...
I guess that my mind
Is just another
Attic
That, someday
I'll have to clean...
