Nothing Comes of Nothing

Time is sighing
Softly still
As I sit
In quiet repose
Thinking...
Dreaming...
Remembering...
Forgetting...
All the passion's locked inside
All the courage bound and chained
And here in the silence
Whispers float by
On the breeze
That is camly still
"Nothing comes of nothing..."
Again I falter
But do not fall
Crack...
But refuse to shatter
Everything lost
Everything found...
The angels had their say
But the devils had his way
And I wonder what becomes
Of me
When all of this is said
And done
When the end is past
Will it have been
The end of us
Or the end of me?
And darkness speaks
As light follows
Sweeping up the mess
You left behind
Picking up the peices
Scattered from yesterday
To now...
And the money's been spent
On candied dreams
That turned out to be
Bitter sweet
The end is assured
But the outcome
From where I sit
Lies unseen
Maybe it's just my eyes
Maybe it's all in the way
I see things
Without seeing them
At all...
Willingly I gave my heart
Knowingly you took it...
And with an unknown motive
Kept it with you
When you left...
As the days unravel
Peice by tattered peice
I try to gather the knowledge
That is hidden within each shred
But it seems the tighter you grasp
Sand
The quicker it runs
Through your fingers...
You demand of me more
Than you should
You ask of me things
Impossible to give
I tried...
I tried...
I swear, I did...
You know I did...
I'm still vainly trying...
And I know that you gave in
Gave up...
Let go...
The battle was over
Before it begun
And because of that
The war was lost...
And, now, it seems
I've come undone
Like the peices of yesterday...
If I could fly from this place
God, knows I would...
I'd go somewhere
Where no one knows me
Where no ones ever seen my face
Perhaps, the mountains
A cabin
By a glassy lake...
Where silence is the only
Company I'll keep...
But, no...
That wouldn't do
The silence would just serve
As a scalding reminder of you
Of the silence
In your eyes
Of the silence
Of your speech
You...
You who was built
Made of nothing...
And "Nothing comes of nothing..."
