better than perfection

A late nite poem by Jim Carroll

Fear not the dark my love for you light up my night and I will leadyou,
To the places only we can go touching the ceiling of heaven, before our descent,
like unbroken waves gracefully racing to the shore and we are freed to,
hold each other tremmbling as one and smiling with all our pleasure spent,
But we are still here uncontrollable understandable untamed our love,
a cry of passion a pleasure of pain and never wanting to reach an end,
climbing ever higher we reach the summit and then rise above,
an eternity a second it matters not it is not time which we depend.
