Silence Rules the Night
Echoes in the dark
And silence deafens
As memories stir broken bones of regret
Once risen, whisper of the past
Speaking tomes yet,
Offering neither comfort nor pity.
But who am I to argue
As the moonlight creeps silently into my world
And the only sound to break this unholy reverence,
The dripping water of my tears
Salt searing my soul.
As silence rules the night.
