I lay here beside you
Watching as you
Settle down and drift
My head nestled on your arm
Your hand in rested place
Where you’ve just stopped
Touching my hair to sleep
Smoothing from your perfect lips
That only moments ago
Kissed away my tears
I hear your little sounds of snore
Imagining they are... breathing in

My leg is laying where you love
Across your belly
Moving up and down with breaths
Your heart beats through
To my hand that holds it safe
