Sweet the time
from K thru 12
when lessons were
served to us on
platters of assurance.
Breeze through ceremonies
that lose their meaning
the passing years blurring
the edges of reality.
Wake from the break
with a start of confusion
and wonder how the
years disappeared before
your eyes.
Welcome to the real
world, and realize that
everything you thought
you knew was totally
taken for granted.
Return to the halls
of hallowed education
and know that this 
time you will EARN
the rewards through
your tears, dedication, anguish.
