As My Fears Subside

Darkness begins to shroud my eyes, and silence smothers my ears,
Anxiety flees, nervousness fades, stress completely disappears.
I lie here in bed with you, reflecting on this peace I've found,
And realize its whole descends from the fact that I know you're safe and sound.
And my dear as I fall asleep, while you're blanketed in my arm,
I hope you too let fears subside, For I won't let you come to harm.
