boom -

--you're an adult--

and you know what you've lost?
      I'll tell you
I'll tell you what you've lost
                                     by early bedtimes and
                                        going to the office and
having to be a classy grownup

                         you've lost your fun
                         you've lost your laugh
                                 and your smile

the closer you get to kid with me the more i see it
the more i miss it when it's gone
           you won't make snow angels
(ok so there's no snow, but if there was and i flopped in it you'd tell me to get up - you'd ignore my laughter and worry about what people thought)
you won't do anything that isn't perfect-
                  you're cary grant in color
                  you're a tinker-toy maker
(without the innocence of the ones you make the toys for)
you want me to be something i'm not and i can't
because i'm a 22 year old adolescent, thank you very much
I'm a five foot eight inch five year old

and i'm having a grand time
the world is (call me naive) wonderful to me
             (call me stupid
or whatever word you want to use to replace the ones i like
                     eclectic
                      vibrant
                     colorful
                     charming
                       giddy)...
                 you go be an adult...
                                     ...but me,
                                    i'm on holiday.
