Lost Boys Crow

Airplanes circle at high noon
twisting shadows sing in tune
and Ministers come rushing forth
to howl at the waning moon
Mr Howard keeps his hands
up high and in plain view
while international puppeteers
get rough and jump the queue
When Santa Claus is frozen stiff
and clowns are crying soft
the ugly sisters drink champagne
in their Manhattan loft
But Jesus Christ the Superstar
saw Cindy in the crowd
crying as the clock had struck
and offered her his shroud
The Catholics hate the Protestants
the Arabs hate the Jews
and the children grow up hating
because they never got to choose

It doesn't matter
if your near
I can still whisper
in your ear
keep your eyes peeled
for pretenders

The minstrel's heart is bleeding
like it needs a thousand sutures
and the Nashville taxi driver
sings his songs and plans his future
Haley's Comet once a month
and lightning in the same place
life flaps its wings and tries to fly
but you gotta live it at your own pace
Seeing shadows in the dark
got a replica of a Great White Shark
but teeth as blunt as callous words
make safe what should be dangerous
Don't give in to honey bees
ignore negativity
mind your own audacity
value your integrity
stay a while and you might see
there's so much more than you and me
don't argue with idiocy
nothing beats tenacity
never doubt your own ability
to shock the world and make them see
that nothing is not worth trying.
