something shakespearean

then let thee fall, as hair 'round maiden's face
i hasten not to peel my eye from moments past
thy upward wind did press me to thy grace
'twas time rejoic'd, and paus'd this play and cast
what curs'd admission woundst thou to knott'd rope?
'twas i, my love, in quickness to defend
'neath pale light did wither roots of hope
'neath jealousy did stir thy thoughts of other men
seconds sprung, and piled their count as vengeful force
each empty as the last, each lack thy breath
'twas life that left, and clung to thee to steer thy course
'twas fear which stay'd behind, companion 'til my death
then let thee fall, as autumn strips the trees
and let my love pass gently into memory
