Throw the Alarm Clock Out the Window!

"Hi," I say in my award-winning voice
While time sweats bullets and drinks lemonade
So you crook your finger, having no choice
And together we wither in the shade
There are houses to build and clocks to wind
The business of living is booming loud
But if we slip away the day won't mind
Twilight is kinder with his purple shroud
You're my spelunker, you hide in my cave
Drinking the water that never runs dry
You swim in my dim, adoring each wave
Not caring if you ever see the sky
Sunlight exposes us in all our mess
Let midnight be our permanent address.
