A Lone Beacon in the Dark

There I stood alone beacon in the dark,
Patiently waiting for you to come along
Shining nightly, to guide you to me,
to keep you safe from harm
Longing always to have you near me
to hold you in my arms.

I cry out,in despair
on this cold,wet foggy night
across the darkened gloomy waters
I search with all my might,
But, in vain all words were lost
in the roar of the crashing waves.
You don't hear me...You don't see me...
Your nowhere in my sight.

I...a true and gallant knight,
stand steadfast throughout the night.
Alone...in the dark ,I dream that you might find me,
long before day light.
