My Bedroom

Sitting here at my desk,
I think of going home.
Of slumber clouds that fill my room
My bed of thickest foam.

My tiger sheets and leopard throws.
Upon my fluffy bed.
My plump filled downy pillow shams.
Where I will lay my head.

The room is dark as it can be.
Black drapes so sleek and tall.
The Lion roars from painted frame.
That hangs upon my wall.

A cheetah stalks the jungle frame.
With stealth and cunning charm
The figurines upon my shelf.
Sharp teeth that seek no harm.

Dark elephant of leather shape.
Upon a leopard skin.
Protects my black alarm clock.
From predators within.

Gazelles, giraffee and zebra too.
Run free above the drawers.
That hide my lingerie of black.
My treasures from the stores.

I sigh a sigh of yearning thought.
To lie upon my bed.
With visions of Safari theme.
That all surrounds my head.

The quilt so thick and soft to touch.
It drapes down to the floor.
The comforter of black and tan .
From JC Penney's store.

Ebony board that holds the rails.
A touch of gold it trims.
Walls are bathed in Burro beige.
Exotic animal skins.

Music playing soft and low...
Melodies fill my mind.
Now the beat begins to throb.
Its Jungle Love you'll find.

So here I sit..... at my desk..
Desiring to be at home.
To float and drift in peaceful sleep..
On my bed of thickest foam.
