The Clown

THE CLOWN

Painted face, and big sad eyes
A painted tear,  enormous size

Large red lips, with silly grin
Huge red nose,  and floppy chin

The clown remains a cherished part
Of happy times, and gleeful art

Makes us giggle and laugh with glee
Gives  us  joyful  comedy

But why the tear so largely traced
Why the sad look upon his face

He smiles so large for all to see
Yet  one can feel his  misery

The tear is what , gives him away
Its always there,  right to this day

Perhaps you know someone like him
Who's sad inside,  with outward grin

Do something nice,  to dry his tear
If only a  hug,  just  hold him near

Its the little things that mean so much
A  little  wink,   or  a  gentle touch

Wether comic, jester, fool, or clown
Be there for him,  don't let him down
