Hopeful
There's something in his eyes
that gets to me.
And through all the
confusion,
and difficulty
and wondering
I saw a light in them
that's been missing
from my heart.
Shining through
the dark
that was covering everything
around me.
It's been so long
since I've stumbled on a mystery,
and he is.
He makes me wonder-
I've never
been known to hang on words like this.
But each word he speaks
makes me listen with my heart
instead of my ears.
There's something in his eyes,
it never changes
that light never dims
and I always look there
for my comfort.
