my new neighbor

another afternoon spent poolside
             lounging in a chair
       sweating in my sunscreen
     same old regulars
  people on welfare
           college kids
   I ignore them all and watch the clouds and the birds
        then a new voice
      a new face
      a new body
            where the hell did she come from?
       wow...I say...wow
       hello heartbreak
                 gimme some of that
she's a really good swimmer with long legs and a healthy laugh
       I saw her glance at me and smile
...we'll see what develops.
