Sad Girl
Sad girl
asks me to drop by
the sad house with his picture on the wall
the picture that makes her sweet face fall
tears that make a damp patch
on the front of my brand new shirt
a liquid puddle of female hurt
just left of center.
And when she breaks down
I pretend that it's all cool
pretend like I know the score
yeah baby I've been here before.
And so here she is
so vulnerable and beautiful
and me so deceitfully dutiful
wearing my "good friend" hat.
