Whenever I need you
There you are
My silent partner
Weather near or far
You're right beside me
You're far away
You're here to guide me
Along the way
I miss a step
You break my fall
When I need quiet
You don't talk at all
The strong protector
The wounded friend
There is no doubt
That in the end
I'll call on you
You're smiling face
To calm my passing
To that eternal place
In the end when all is done
When I look back at where I've come
It's not the ups and downs I see
But you're smiling face looking back at me
