Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly Sandwiches on Roman Meal Bread
how long can we survive on JIF extra crunchy peanut butter
and Welch's grape jelly sandwiches on Roman Meal bread
with nightmares in my head and piles under the bed
of magazines and sonnets and unfinished screenplays
I stumble through the fog in a daze and you smoke and drink Pepsi
this is too much Generation X for my iron deficient blood
I'm apathetic and anemic
but I don't trust transfusions
the confusion and chaos are windchimes
I only hear the music
when a storm stirs it
all up
