I Wish Shakespeare Were Here

I Wish Shakespeare Were Here

Try as I may at writing appropriate and momentous words of love,
I more often dream of enlightenment from true greats of romantic exposition.

The maker of  "a summer's day" and "number all your graces",
Used all the perfect words and left me - wee, minor me -- with only my inexpressable feelings.

True sonnets are no more and we poetic mortals flail simple thoughts to page,
Inspired by a genius' words: "Live with me and be my love" and more.

Yet, somehow, someway, in some everyday words and everyday signals,
And mostly, I find and you find, a way to say one cliched expression:

"I love you".  And maybe that's enough.
