Sunset

Boldly the seafoam covers my feet
A gentle caress that barely registers on my thoughts
Which are not here, walking this lonely shore.
The horizon bleeds crimson into the black void of me
Where darkness swallows everything
And the loneliness cannot be quenched
By even these salty breezes.
And the seagull screeches my feeling with every cry.
I bite back the tears with every step,
When I look back at the solitary footprints,
So alone in the wet sand.
