This is Not a Sonnet

Mildewed and musty with memories I
Bask in your arms on our small patch of earth
Hoping for benevolence from the sky
I treasure this peace and measure its worth
Your love offers temporary relief
I can close my eyes and get lost in now
Joy this exquisite is usually brief
But we'll take all that this world will allow
For your kisses redeem me and I know
There is still time and space in which to grow.
