thoughts upon hearing

she believes what she's thinking all the time
he believes that he never has believed
another
and that truth is only undiscovered lies
an alarm will ring
the quartet sing
that the things she thought
were the things he brought
to the back of the book from the front of the line
the black of the look
from a bus undefined
from an earlier time
when blue was the color of the humor
and the crimes
went shush into the night
she believes that everything is different
he believes that everything is evidently
not
that there's blood mixed into this melting pot
and if it's served to one
the deal is undone
some kind handshakes have a claim to stake
and some
go shush into the night
