Through My Eyes

I wish that he could see himself, through my eyes
The way that I see him
I wonder at what he sees, when he glances in the mirror
Because, sometimes, then he loses his smile
No one ever needs to kick him, when he's down
Because he does that himself...
He is so much more, than he'll ever admit
He never gives himself credit, where it is due...
I think that he sees a man, just a man
A man who has wandered too much, and too long
And settled for the easy way out, too often
I do agree that he has wandered for too long
And he has comprimised himself, far too much
But, if he could only see, what I see, in him
All the strength, all the warmth, and that light in his eyes...
His eyes are full of starlight, that comes from within
He is so much more than he knows...
I just wish that I could make him see, how wondefull he is
And, that I do not say these things simply as someone in love
But, I say them as someone who speaks true...
I wish that he could see himself, through my eyes
