Today
Today,
for the first time ever I received flowers,
totally unexpected on Valentines Day.
I've had flowers before,
when I was in a relationship,
and had half expected them.
But today,
today, what a heart fluttering surprise.
My hands shake as turn the card over,
and read,
just three little words,
not 'I love you'
but something special
to us.
my cheeks burn as I'm questioned,
and as usual, I let the staff rumour mill take care of that.
The language of the flowers speaks volumes,
only I'm sure he didn't pick them especially.
Bluebells, carnations, daisy's and lilies ...
sprayed in glitter and wrapped in pink and red.
I'm floating on a cloud of perfection
and can't wait for more.
