If you could see what I hear

If you could see what I hear
everytime you speak to me
I'm not sure
that tears wouldn't flow.

That silent, spinning
moving, turning magic thing
that shining something
that comes to life
only at the sound of your voice
is a mystery to me.

In the very vibration
of your voice
hang all the colors
of the rainbows
of my childhood

In the chime of your laughter
hangs the notes
of all the happy hopes
I've ever dreamed.

In the verse
you pen
or the lines
you read to me
the pattern
flows into view
of who I am
and who I am not
without you.

There is
under heaven
no sound or power
that shakes my soul
and shapes my smile
like this..

and all that is required
is that you
speak my name.

If you could see
what I hear
I doubt that
even in a mirror
you would know
your own face.

Those who would place
a human countenace
upon angels
have never heard
the smile in your voice,
else every angel
that ever graced
a Christmas tree
would all resemble you.

How I do wish
you could see
what I hear.
