It's Just Me Baby, Saying Good-Bye
I watch you sleep,
Remembering the words you spoke just hours ago
You're leaving
You turn to your back and mumble my name
It's just me baby, saying good-bye.
I snuggle close and slide my hand under yours
As I rub my thumb against the back of your hand,
It closes around mine
The tears make it hard to see
It's just me baby, saying good-bye.
You roll to your side still holding my hand
I get as close as I can so I will never forget the feel
Of you body meshed against mine
The tears begin to fall
It's just me baby, saying good-bye.
As we lay together I reach to touch your hair
So I will never forget the feel of it.
I press my lips to your back, then bury my face
So I will never forget the way you smell
It's just me baby, saying good-bye.
I watch silently as you gather your clothes
My eyes ache with unshed tears
I know if I cry, it will only hurt you
As you go to the door, I walk to you
And you fold me in your arms
WE kiss our last kiss
It's just me baby, saying good-bye.
