coming home
She arrived 3/4 of an hour early to meet him,
nervous and breathless on a moulded plastic seat
she waited and watched, people where matched up,
feet quickening, grins spreading as arms were thrown wide.
she turned her wrist, checked her watch again. 12.50am.
his flight landed 15 minutes earlier, she wants him to hurry.
12.53 he passed beneath the tired neon sign 'international arrivals'
She sees him straight away, his eyes pass her, then stop.
Flick back, he smiles, she is home.
