The Mists
Late at night, with the fireflies shining, above
Close to midnight, with the moonlight washing over her
She walked along that empty sea shore, gliding along the waters' edge
There was that wonderfull smell of sea salt, filling up her senses...
She was cloaked in a flowing pale green gown, that swirled around her ankles
Delicate dasies adorned her dark cascade of hair
And her eyes, honey colored, seemed to glow, like a jungle cat's
There she walked, warm water lapping at her ankles, softly singing
As she sang some ancient words, mist began to form on the waves
A curling, dense mist, that shimmered like stardust
She continued singing those inaudiable lyrics, an aged haunting tune
And out of the mist, he came, splashing through the waters
He walked to her, stopping her song, he covered her mouth with his own
Pulling back, she looked into his eyes, smiling
"I've missed you so, love..." she whispered, in his ear
And no other words were spoken, no words exchanged
Together they sank down onto the sand, which served as their bed that night...
Afterwards, she layed wrapped up in his arms, a serene expression on her face
And he gazed at her, lovingly, until the dawn began to creep up, on the horizen
He kissed her softly on the cheek, then moved to get up from the sand
She sat up, tears shining in her eyes, but she smiled
Again, she began to sing, her voice shaking slightly
And he walked to the shore's edge, turning once to look back at her and smile
Love filling up his gaze...
Then he stepped into the ocean, as the mist began to form, again
Her song grew louder, the tune became mournfull and bittersweet
And he disappeared, gone back into the shimmering, swirling mists
