The Puzzle
The Puzzle
Tairhart April, 10, 2001
I’m missing a piece of the puzzle that is me,
It’s the piece that holds all the other pieces together.
The middle piece, the anchor.
The other pieces of me, my job, my enthusiasm, motivation, joy,
All these are there, but hang together loosely.
Some days they stay in place, other times they become too loose
And the picture of me is not clear.
I had this piece, but I never firmly fit it into place.
I allowed it to sit there, not placing it among the other pieces
To complete the puzzle.
Now this piece is lost,
I have searched for it, but it was not there.
The harder I search, the further away it gets.
Now I wait quietly, hoping it will turn up.
This piece is trying to fit into another puzzle.
Will fit somewhere else,
lost to my puzzle forever?
My picture cannot be complete without this piece.
It is one special piece, none other will work.
