I Love Shade Trees
I love shade trees
Better than flowers
Better than grass and bushes
Sitting under luxuriant luscious leaves
Full spreading branches
The cool shade
Neath the hot scorching sun
Cool dry shade oasis of humid summers heat
Nature's air conditioning treat
Leaves emitting cool dry air
Shade trees umbrella opened wide
I love to plant shade trees
And prune them too
Use lots of dead leaves when you plant
The dead life inspires the trees to grow
Fast and big and tall.... quickly
Drip, drip, drip, drip
Trickle, trickle, trickle, trickle
Water slowly seeping little at a time
All day long
All night too
Allowing a deep steady soaking
Penetrating deeply into the soil
Much better than spraying into the air
Quick and furious
But quickly evaporated
Leaving thirsty roots with just a tease
Nothing lasting, with little benefit
So like falling in love
Taking it slow
Learning each other
Little by Little
A slow steady trickle
Slowly seeping, saturating deeply
Taking it all in
Absorbing you
Like the slow trickle dripping
Your thoughts and lips sipping
All day and all night
Reaching heights of love
Touching stars above
Allowing us to grow
That only slow, steady saturation can know
