months have passed crawling like the lazy flow of a quiet stream bubbling not as if afraid to disturb the things it passes by changes are constant, yes, but sometimes such changes are unnoticed as a single lock of gray hair buried unseen in a mass of vibrant black unnoticed until there's enough of it to be seen to say we've changed and so i stay the same a statue after a year it was free of the sculptor's shaping hand darker from exposure to the elements yet beneath the surface remains the artist's work intact spared by fate and circumstance from drastic measures to change it for these are the changers of everything and they touched me lightly but you-I haven't heard from you for months-they embraced tight i hope you're ok. |
