In lands ago and times away we spent our youths, swimming the same waters. in compressed time, we traveled trails together. these paths were once easily traversed, but today they are overrun with the overgrowth of loneliness, despair, mingled with love and desire, and stress and suffering but for what and whom. I once traveled that magical road which brought me to you a road that elated my heart as it neared you but now that road is no longer the way, and where you are now is fraught with dragons and demons most days now I am under a necromancer's spell that robs me of clear logic but sometimes .... reality finds it's way in and unlike the fables I grew up with where the words happily ever after are the last entry I just know deep inside that my fairy tale will end with steel chains holding me, a prisoner vanquished my heart ripped out, evermore. |
