I wait, as she sits there, beaming and reminiscing of times she has known, Smiling, I nod encouragements, all the wile secretly agonizing. An old flame dwells within her poetry; does he dwell within her heart as well? I wait, remember all the nights I spent, hoping, longing, and searching in darkness Waiting for the past to be risen again, to caress my soul with her soft breath. She never came to me, the one I hungered for, but will he to her? I wait, wishing for guaranties to calm me, knowing none exist within true loves walls. If I had some hint, some glimpse of her dreams desire, this waiting would not be such torture. My heart wishes to fall, but could it rise again from her, should she cast it to the fore winds... ...and so I wait |
