Time is consumed quickly, so there is nothing left but gray The color has been lost, and now the world is black Yet, black is not darkness, but a blend of all the colors A mixuture of sunshine and fresh cut grass A splatter-painted sunset,and the brightness of lightening I know that it's all there,'cause I've seen it,in your smile... And it was that smile that first captured my attention But, it was the warmth in your eyes, that held me still A touch of your hand, and my shoddy defenses just feel away You are just so different from anyone I've ever known... But, everybody seems to want an explanation, a justification They want a reason for that kiss, the kiss that rocked a nation Or at least, that's how it felt to me... But, no, I won't explain myself to anyone I shouldn't need to, I shouldn't have to I don't need to, and I don't have to Still, just for the record, my defense is simply this-- My heart made me do it... |
