My hunger for you lasted almost six months during which time you never fed me not even a bite No words, no lines no poems, no rhymes no e-mails sent no phone calls spent I thought you died or perhaps just lied when you said, once upon a time that you loved me You disappeared into the night Without a word in vanished flight And so I hungered every day to taste the words, you used to say the sweetened lines dipped in honey Your witty humor, so cute and funny The hunger pains grew long and wide I ached and hurt so deep inside For six long months the growling sound my churning gut no food was found A starving void the famished nights the acid burn of hungers bite When hunger's growl is long ignored The body shuts down for fuel that's stored It's Nature's plan to stay alive it killed my hunger so I could survive I ache no more No craving burn Six months of fasting I no longer churned And so ends my hunger pain for you. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ (when an aching, painful hunger is ignored, it eventually goes away and the hunger disappears, too) ~ and so it did with you...... ~ |
