Words unspoken Struggles constantly fought On the battlefield of my mind Unspeakable tragedies Laced throughout my soul A flaw so pronounced with in me I can not open my mouth And simply ask for help For a shoulder to cry upon That rejection is to much I will take it when offered Only if it is done through love Then there is no judgement Only arms around me When I shiver in the cold You question my solemn mask But how can I turn to you? I fear your criticism and abandonment Through tears and rejection I have not left your side Though you have run from mine It is hard to be my friend To stand strong when I need it Even if you feel a little shaky To put your arms around me Without a word spoken Only seeing the desperation in my eyes I never know when you will leave again Consider me to much or not need me anymore Every minute spent with you is treasured For there is nothing more precious to me Then the friendship we have made From this roller coaster affair But realize that you can not give me love Even as a friend So there will always be secrets |
