I saw you late last night when you thought I wasn't there I couldn't even breathe; all I could do was stare. I saw your eyes hold hers for just a second or maybe two But that was all it took to say that we were through. I saw her eyes sweep over yours and you held the glance I saw your body holding hers as slowly you two danced. I watched her hands steal upwards and gently stroke your face I saw the delight in your eyes as my memory you erased. You bent your head down and whispered in her ear Something sweet I know for only her to hear. She laughed and she grinned, her lips to you upturned And as you bent down to meet them my eyes had to turn. I turned away and stumbled out; so desperate I was to flee That the tears came spilling down and washing over me. I knew that we were over when I left that night I had seen the things that I had feared finally brought to light. You were not a man to trust, you didn't love my heart You only wanted a new one that you could tear apart. I should have known better than to let you deep within Only now I know that it will never happen agagin. |
