Dishes washed House cleaned Laundry done, folded neat Children bathed, asleep in bed Lights out Alarm clock set A plate of dinner waiting A glass of milk in the fridge I crawl into bed Between the cold sheets The sounds of the outside world Loud, but somehow comforting Time goes by Sleep escapes me Waiting for you to come home Waiting for my life to be complete once again Silence Then the sound of the front door Steps, one then another Coming closer Skipping the awaiting meal Undressing at the bedroom door You slip into bed Beside me I find warmth in your arms I melt onto your chest I finally know all the answers I realize now what really matters You Loving me Holding me Beside me Coming home to me What questions are left...none What more could I want...nothing I have it all I have you |
